 여수지역 문화연구단체, 속히 하나로 통합을 촉구한다.외 1편 여수지역에는 문화연구단체들이 적지 않지만 소규모로 이뤄진 것으로 개인적인 판단이다.
어느 여수지역 문화연구단체와 연락을 했었는데 연구소장은 3~4년전에 이세상사람이 아니고 사모님이 조금이나마 대신하고 있는것으로 알고 있으며 홈페이지나마 유지하고 있는것으로 알고 있어 크고 강한 문화연구단체로 통합될 필요성이 있을것으로 본다.
여러개의 문화연구단체들을 하나로 뭉쳐 통합시켜 잊혀져간 지금의 순천시 해룡면 남부지역이지만 구)여수권지역이었던 구 여수군 용두면지역관련 문제, 석창성을 왜? 여수현성으로 개명해야 하는가?, 돌산현성은 어디에 있고 원지국성 복원등 원지국관련등 여수지역의 문화재들과 역사를 효율적으로 체계적인 연구를 해서 여수지역의 역사를 더 알게 할 필요가 있지 않을까 생각된다.
여수지역의 역사진실을 파헤칠 뿐만 아니라 역사를 발견함으로서 여수지역민들의 자부심을 함양하며 역사문화유산들을 복구해 지역의 자랑으로 만들 필요가 있지 않을련가?
앞으로 여수지역은 복원해야 할 문화재들과 역사들이 많은데 크고 강력한 문화연구단체가 없어 안타까운 현실이 아닐수 없어 여수의 역사가 간혹 왜곡되는 일이 있을수도 있는만큼 적극적인 대책이 필요하게 될것으로 본다.
성곽복원, 전통건물 복원, 근현대건물 관련문제등등......
여수지역 문화연구단체들은 설 기득권을 포기.양보하여 강력한 통합 문화연구단체가 출범되어 여수지역의 없어졌거나 잃어버린 역사와 문화유산들이 조속히 복원하여 여수를 살 찌우는데 도움이 되길 많은 관심부탁드린다.

여수로서는 관광구경거리를 확보하고 여수지역을 상징하는 가칭:여수타워는 반드시 필요할것으로 보여 예산타령으로 인해 여의치 않는다면 지역민들과 향우, 그외분들과 지역기업들의 모금운동을 해서라도 여수타워는 반드시 있었으면 한다는 생각에서다.
자산공원으로 한다면 탑의 높이를 자산의 높이에서 12배를 곱하여 넉넉잡아서 160m로 하고 여수의 지역중심을 상징이자 조선초까지 여수현의 치소가 있었던 석창성(여수현성으로 개명)부근에 가칭:여수현성공원 조성을 동시에 132m의 높이로 한 타워를 만들면 된다.
탑의 높이는 무조건 높다고 해서 좋은것 아니고 여수나름대로의 특색에 맟춰 건설하면 다른지역의 타워보다 손색이 없을정도인만큼 충분한 높이에 지역색이 살아있는 타워면 안성맟춤이 아닐까 싶기 때문이다.
원래 여수타워는 엑스포계획을 포함해서 건설되어야 할것으로 알고 있지만 폐시멘트 사일로로 대신 얼버버리는 식으로 그친것인만큼 여수를 상징하는 진정한 여수타워건설은 사실상 건설하지 못했다는 거나 다름없다.
여수타워는 엑스포를 떠나서 없어서는 안되는 만큼 그에대한 대책을 세울 필요가 있지 않을까 싶기 때문에 엑스포 개최이후 여수에 2년후, 해변아시안게임을 유치를 연계해서 여수타워를 건립하는 것도 나쁘지 않을것으로 생각된다.
관광객을 찾아온수가 12만명을 자랑한 완도타워를 본다면 여수로서는 어떻게 해야 할지 생각해 볼 문제로서 성금모금운동을 해서라도 여수타워는 반드시 있어야 하지 않을까 싶은 생각이 들정도다.
어떻게든 이에대한 이슈를 더 크게 확산시켜 해변아시안게임 유치와 연계해 여수를 상징하는 여수타워는 어떻게 해서든간에 건립되길 간젏 기대할 뿐일테다.
지역주민들과 향우분들, 지역기업체들의 모금운동을 해서라도 여수타워는 선택이 아닌 필수상징물중에 하나다는 것을 간과할수 없다.
